Sunrise Hike To The Sacred Devchuli Hills

Begin your day before dawn with a guided hike to the summit of Devchuli Hill—the highest point in Chitwan District and a sacred site for the local Magar community.

The trail starts from the lowland villages and gently ascends through quiet farmlands, forested ridges, and natural clearings. As the first light breaks over the horizon, you’ll reach one of the panoramic viewpoints just in time for sunrise.

At the top, enjoy a warm cup of tea and a picnic breakfast as the landscape unfolds below—plains stretching to the south and layered hillscapes to the north. It’s a peaceful setting to sit still, reflect, and welcome the day.

This is a moderate-level hike with steady inclines and some uneven terrain, suitable for those with general physical fitness. The experience includes regular rest stops and guiding support, with stories shared about the land’s spiritual significance.

More than just a physical activity, this sunrise hike is an invitation to slow down, observe, and be present— with the land, the light, and yourself.

Altitude: 1,936 meters (6,352 feet)
Hiking Difficulty: Moderate | Duration: 4–6 hours roundtrip (with breaks)
